Support for the Emotional and Mental Load of Parenthood
The transition to parenthood for women is often physically exhausting, but the mental and emotional load can be even heavier. Our clients often find themselves struggling with experiences that feel confusing or hard to name, including:
Intrusive or distressing thoughts
Intense anxiety or anger that feels unfamiliar
Relationship strain with growing distance or friction
A sense of failure during a time that was expected to feel joyful
Guilt for not being ‘more grateful’
Feeling disconnected from their baby
Having support can change how this time in your life feels.
Our practice provides expertise and care to process these feelings without judgment, helping you move from a place of survival back to a place of solid ground.

Postpartum Therapy
Therapy during pregnancy and postpartum is specialized to address the emotional and psychological changes that can follow childbirth. It supports parents experiencing sadness, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, irritability, identity shifts, birth trauma, or difficulty bonding. It is also a space to process the enormous adjustment that comes with caring for a newborn.
Support during this stage isn’t about “doing it perfectly”, it’s about having a place where your experience is taken seriously and your well-being is prioritized.
Pregnancy Therapy
Pregnancy therapy offers support during fertility challenges, pregnancy after loss, high-risk pregnancies, fear of childbirth, and the emotional shifts that can surface before a baby arrives. Many clients begin during pregnancy to build coping tools and establish care before the postpartum period.
Your Steps to Get Started
Fill out our contact form
Then we will reach out and have a brief, complimentary phone call. This is a low-pressure way for you to share what’s going on and for us to see if we’re the right fit for your needs.
Schedule your first session
If it’s a match, then we schedule our first session. Whether you are seeing a therapist in DC online or visiting us in person, we’ll use this time to understand your story and identify where you want to go.
Build a plan for you
After our first session, we’ll build a plan using tools like DBT and/or EMDR that are all tailored to you. We stay connected with your other providers, like your OB/GYN, psychiatrist, or school team, so your care remains coordinated.
